BDF and Top of Digital Europe organised an ICT Round Table in Brussels on 4 March 2016. The event was co-organised and hosted by Microsoft, with Vice-President of the European Commission Jyrki Katainen as special guest. Also among the invited participants were also members of the European Parliament, representatives of regions, EU permanent representations, business organizations etc.
The purpose of the roundtable was to promote a discussion of a digital single market in the Baltic Sea Region. The discussion took place on the basis of a presentation by professor Martin Andersson, which highlighted the findings of the two latest reports from Top of Digital Europe were outlined: The “2016 State of the Digital Region Report”, and “A Digital Single Market – Growing the Baltic Sea Region”. Jyrki Katainen was also present at the 16th Baltic Development Forum Summit in Turku in his former capacity of Finnish Prime Minister, when Top of Digital Europe was launched by BDF and Microsoft in June 2014.
